Velina

Velina is located 23 km south of Kiato, at an altitude of approximately 930 meters, in the northeastern part of Mount Ziria, at the edge of a black pine forest that extends to Klemeni.

The villagers are primarily engaged in agriculture and livestock farming.

The climate of Velina is considered excellent, and its plain is one of the most fertile in Corinthia, producing high-quality fruits and vegetables.

The central church of the village, St. Demetrius, has a remarkable wooden carved iconostasis and icons from the early 19th century.

The inhabitants of Velina participated in the 1821 Revolution, mainly under the leadership of the Notaras family.
