Asprokampos

Asprokampos is a mountainous village situated at an altitude of 760 meters, on the northwestern slopes of Mount Gavria, to the northeast of Lake Stymphalia.

It is a simple yet beautiful village where visitors can enjoy hiking or hunting, as it is the starting point for a trail leading to the Gavria hill, which rises above the village and is a famous hunting ground. The hill also offers a stunning view from its two medieval fortresses, which have visual contact with the villages of the Nemea municipality, the area of Skoteini, and Kandila.

In Asprokampos, there are ruins of a medieval tower located to the north of the village on the top of a hill, and scattered ancient building materials suggest the presence of an ancient structure. The location of the tower offers a magnificent view of the Stymphalia valley.

The inhabitants of Asprokampos are mainly engaged in agriculture and livestock farming, and in recent years, the wine industry has developed significantly, as the region produces high-quality Agiorgitiko wine, known for its excellent characteristics.
