Kalliani

North of Lake Stymphalia, at an altitude of 700 meters, lies the village of Kalliani, built within a stunning landscape with dramatic changes in lush vegetation and tall trees. The village once had several watermills built along the banks of the Sofainetos River, and today, one of the most historic watermills, built in 1850, is still preserved. The village also retains the mansion of the Oikonomopoulos family, as well as the Monastery of Saint Paraskevi, which was built in 1904 and is located about a 20-minute walk from the village, within a gorge.

Kalliani, which served as the seat of the former municipality of Stymphalia, houses the essential services for the Stymphalia region, including the post office, a multipurpose health clinic, and more.
