Gonnousa

Gonnousa is located 23 kilometers south of Kiato, at an altitude of approximately 680 meters, along the Kiato–Nemea road. To the east of the village flows the Asopos River, while to the west rises the fir-covered peak of Mount Vesiza.

Its inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture and livestock farming.

The village owes its current name to the ancient settlement of Gonoessa, which is mentioned by Homer in the "Catalogue of Ships" in the Iliad. Remains of the ancient acropolis can still be found on the present-day hill of "Kastriza," 600 meters from the village.
