Pasio
Pasio is the second largest village in the municipality and is located southwest of Kiato, just 2 kilometers away.
At its boundaries, there is also the suburban railway station that connects the area to Athens, the Airport, and the Port of Piraeus. Its inhabitants are primarily engaged in agriculture. In the past, it was called Klementaika because the first settlers came from Klementi (after 1720) and settled next to an ancient aqueduct with a fountain that had the Turkish name "Bey-Dashi." During the Byzantine period, there was the village of Kyrillo (or Kyrilla) next to the river, which is mentioned in a letter by Pope Innocent III in 1212. Kyrillo is also listed in the Venetian census of 1700.
To the east of Pasio, the areas of "Arkouda" and "Valtseika" are located, where the military incidents of August 1822 took place, leading to the Battle of Kiato and the heroic death of Anagnostis Petimeza. In the area of "Vromovrisi," located within the valley of Kyrillos, at the point called "Pyrgos," historians estimate that the Greek soldiers who died in that battle are buried.
