Mikros Valtos
The village of Mikros Valtos is located to the southwest of Kiato, 16 km away, at an altitude of 510 meters. It is surrounded by lush greenery. Pine forests decorate the surrounding area, while towering, ancient plane trees cast shadows over the ravines, through which the crystal-clear waters flow gently, springing up at various points throughout the region. The village has about 300 inhabitants, most of whom are engaged in agriculture.
The village played a significant role in the struggles of the Greek War of Independence in 1821, as records show that its residents contributed food and ammunition to the cause.
