Lafka Folklore Museum

Located in the village of Lafka, at an altitude of 700 meters beneath the peaks of Mount Oligyrtos, the Laafka Folklore Museum "Georgios Milios" preserves and showcases the rich local heritage. Established by the cultural association "Brotherhood of Laafka Residents," the museum is housed in a stone building that once served as the transitional Peace Court of Stymfalia in 1930.

The museum's mission is to preserve, highlight, and promote folk culture. As time passes, traditions fade, villages are abandoned, lifestyles change, and traditional clothing and tools that once played essential roles in daily life become obsolete. The museum collects and exhibits these items to ensure their purpose and history are not forgotten in the years to come.

The exhibition is organized into thematic sections, displaying items donated by the local community. It captures the material and spiritual life of the people of Lafka, with a special focus on customary folklore, including domestic life, food and clothing, wedding traditions, agricultural and pastoral life, music and musical instruments, crafts and technical professions, as well as worship and historical heritage.

Admission:

Free. Prior arrangement required with the representative of the "Brotherhood of Laafka Residents," Mr. Georgios Rigopoulos, at +30 6973 624 694.
