In the central paved square of Gkouras stands the Holy Church of the Archangels, built entirely of stone, simple yet imposing. The church was constructed in 1880 and serves as a monument of local architectural tradition.

According to some historical researchers, the church was built in memory of a smaller and older church of the same name, which was located in Palaiochori, one of the earliest settlements of Feneos. However, Palaiochori was abandoned in the early 18th century due to extensive flooding and Albanian raids.

Visitors to the area will admire the grandeur of the church despite its simple architectural style. Also worthy of admiration are the stone bell tower, the rich interior frescoes, and the iconostasis.
